    Color makes a Difference: BLUE

    by paul 9/30/2009 8:12:00 AM
When I  am planning an event of any kind, I cannot help but think from the inside out. As I listen to the clients, and their ideas or thoughts, I truly think from within........I begin to visualize details and overviews deep inside, and eventually they begin to surface into real clear ideas and eventually an event "happens"
I am not sure how everyone else does it, I am not even sure if you will "get" what I mean but I do know one thing.......what I see today with regard to event planning and to decor is either so cheap and taking that becomes an ad for "Michael's" and a continued belief that tulle and baby's breath are the rule..........OR, it is so over the top and so in your face that it makes you feel uncomfortable, perhaps your first thought would be......" I wonder how much this cost?", when it should be.....what a beautiful event.
Primarily, I look to myself when I design. After planning, some wonderful moments with clients hearing all about their ideas, their motivation for having a party......and in searching for the "spirit" of the event, I often times find that it all boils down to one thing.......COLOR. What color is it, where do the colors go, are there many colors, are there only a few.? It is so amazing to me what a little color will do, and as my mom always says, just a little lipstick and I feel like a lady........so to with color, a little color will make your party feel like warm, rich, soothing, or whatever your intent is.
With color, I also think it is important to think about the color of the bare bones of the party......the color of the dining room, the color of the sky if you are having an out door event, the color of the ballroom or restaurant........all of this is your frame, you will want to work within the palate of your surroundings......
The following photographs will show you what I have done with the color BLUE.........one of the colors I like best and one of the colors so many people in the "business" try to discourage me from using as they feel it is too "cold", well I disagree......blue can be enchanting, it can be soothing, it can be honest, and it can also be WARM.
Look at the photos and you decide.......!
